I recognize the immense privilege of being able to take a sabbatical
I hold this privilege with gratitude and humility
And I hope that it will help me get free for the benefit of myself and others
Summary
- After eight years in the Bay and seven in the Presidio, I've decided to leave my magical nest and go with the wind for a while, my first-ever long break from work 💨
- There's a good chance I settle in the Bay again after, but I'm also wanting to truly surrender to the wind, so let's see... 🌬️
- In Aug and Sept, I’ll be traveling in the US, and coming back through the Bay a couple times. I’ll be in Boston, a Jewish primitive skills gathering in Virginia, Burning Man, and backpacking in California for a couple weeks
- In October, after Sukkot on the Farm, my vision is to go abroad… maybe work trading at a kibbutz in Israel, or a farm in Venezuela, or an eco village elsewhere in the world…
- I think I’d love to travel for at least 6 months, but we’ll see…

🎨 Sharing some of my poetry
Part of my prayer for this time is to free the creative voice in me that wants to create, share, inspire, and be vulnerable.
So I’m sharing poetry here, now — in a wider, open forum for the first time… see here for a sample and more 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Why a sabbatical
I’m wanting to take a sabbatical to help mark my transition from tech to healing work, and to continue the work of freeing myself from achievement culture, to get clearer on my calling, and to deepen my relationship to Judaism and spirit
I’m considering some of the following, and would love any ideas / tips / connections you have for these:
- Farms to work trade at, especially with a Jewish grounding
- Other sweet places to work trade at (retreat centers, etc)
- Eco villages
